HCI Khusela Coal was in the process of gaining rights to operate a coal reserve owned by industry major Xstrata, Fleur Honeywill. the small scale mining firm’s managing director, said yesterday

The deal, to be approved by the boards of both firms, would see HCI Khusela double its reserves in Mpumalanga to 20 million tons. In exchange, Xstrata would gain access to coal at a discounted price, Honeywell said.
