Striking South African Municipal Workers’ Union (Samwu) workers reportedly petrol bombed a Golden Arrow bus in Cape Town on Thursday morning.

The vehicle was set alight at the old Harare terminus in Khayelitsha as passengers were boarding. Golden Arrow’s François Meyer said, “As the passengers started abandoning the bus, one of the striking workers threw a petrol bomb at the bus which set the bus alight. The fire brigade responded fairly quickly but they were still too late to put the fire out so we lost the bus this morning.”
