Accra, 8th November, 2011: E.tv Ghana and Japan Motors today donated visual aides to the Ghana Blind Union, formerly the Ghana Association of the Blind, in fulfillment of their promise to the Union to support them with proceeds from the 5KM Corporate Run held in September this year.

The donations comprised of white canes and writing frames to enhance mobility and education for their members. Receiving the items at their head office in Adabakra, Mr. Peter Kroley, Manager of Finance and Administration at the Ghana Blind Union, expressed his profound gratitude to both organizations for their support.

Mr. Akwasi Agyeman, Managing Director in charge of Commercial Operations for Global Media Alliance, the mother company for E.tv Ghana stated, “e.TV Ghana is the first TV station to employ a visually impaired broadcast journalist. We are committed to supporting our visually impaired brothers and sisters in Ghana, so that they can unearth their potential and contribute their valuable quota to Ghana. ”

Marketing manager for Japan Motors, Hilda Peasah, added “we thank our sponsors for making it possible for us to be able to help such a great organization. We hope to further our relationship with them. We also want to assure the Ghana blind Union that they have found new partners in Japan Motors and e.tv Ghana as we look forward to making this an annual event.”

The 5KM Corporate Run was sponsored by Irani Brothers’, Glico and Ashfoam factory Limited.
