Tsogo Sun was investing R480 million to refurbish the Silverstar complex on the West Rand and the new entertainment facilities were expected to come on stream by August next year, the company said yesterday. The new development would have six cinemas, all boasting the latest technology 3D screens; a 12-lane bowling alley; four new restaurants surrounding a central square that can also be used for outdoor events; a large outdoor screen in the central square, featuring cutting-edge technology; two additional restaurants inside the property (which will bring the total number of restaurants to six); a beer garden; laser games; a refurbished casino; a large outdoor domed events arena; an up-market indoor multipurpose events venue; and additional parking. “The contractors are setting up on site in preparation for the project and construction has already begun,” said Shane Collinson, the director of operations and general manager of Silverstar.
