The ability of local government, municipalities and road traffic authorities to successfully maintain financial sustainability has become paramount in South Africa and across the continent.

Even though there is increased pressure from regulators, rate-payers and governments to maximise revenue management to ensure service delivery, many municipalities face severe financial burdens stemming from their reduced capacity for collection of revenue for services – impacting their ability to expand and sustain service delivery.

The Syntell Sustainability Forum 2014, taking place at The Vineyard Hotel in Cape Town from 18 to 20 August 2014, will provide an unprecedented opportunity to meet 200 high level municipal stakeholders from around Africa, including municipalities, utilities and road traffic authorities, all looking for the latest expertise and technology to help them build robust and financially sustainable organisations.

The Forum is Africa’s think tank forum for municipalities. It brings together Africa’s leading thinkers who will share their ideas on how to make African municipalities more financially sustainable. The Forum will showcase solutions for the effective end-to-end lifecycle of revenue collection and management, and how this will improve service delivery for your residents and customers.

Key decision-makers from some of Africa’s leading municipalities, utilities and road traffic authorities will be joining, such as:

Yasir Ahmed, Executive Manager, Transport Regulation, Western Cape Government, South Africa
Liezl Groenewald, Manager: Organisational Ethics Development, Ethics Institute of South Africa, South Africa
Christa Liebenberg, Municipal Manager, Stellenbosch Municipality
Louis Scheepers, Municipal Manager, Saldanha Bay Municipality, South Africa
Lerato Thwane, Chief Director of Finance, Department of Cooperative Governance, South Africa
