KWV’s Classic Range Chenin Blanc 2013 took gold at the prestigious Michelangelo International Wine Awards, held on Friday, September 6th, at The Lord Charles Hotel in Somerset West.
This elegant wine is a great example of the modern style of South African Chenin Blanc; soft and zesty on the palate, with plenty of tropical fruit and citrus notes, a lovely refreshing wine to drink coming into Summer.
It can be enjoyed on its own or with a variety of salads, sushi, seafood and white meats.
Chief Winemaker at KWV, Johann Fourie, commented, “We’re particularly pleased to see our KWV Classic Range Chenin Blanc Being recognized. It’s a tribute to our winemaking team that they’ve produced such a fine, quality wine at such an affordable price to consumers”.

The awards, in their 17th year, are seen as one of the most influential and reputable in the industry, and the international judging panel’s votes are seen as a valuable pointer on international wine trends and tastes.

Currently in its 17th year, a record number of entries for the Michelangelo Awards were received from South African producers. Wines from as far away as Chile, Italy, New Zealand, France, Argentina and Canada were also submitted.

KWV Classic Chenin Blanc retails at R38 and can be purchased in all leading retail outlets.
