The stakes in Tsogo Sun’s first-ever nationwide Slots Factor Tournament have been raised to a whopping R1.1-million – guaranteed to the ultimate winner of the competition. The top ten scorers at the national finals will also get a share of an impressive R1.4-million, bringing the grand total to be won to a substantial R1.8-million.
Qualifying rounds have been running at all 14 of Tsogo Sun’s casinos since the middle of July. Slots enthusiasts who are keen to put themselves in line to win a million rand have until the week of the 7th of September to buy into the tournament at their closest Tsogo Sun Casino. Buy-in is just R100 and people can enter as many times as they like, limited to one seat per heat.
The participating casinos include Silverstar Casino (Johannesburg); Garden Route Casino (Mossel Bay); Goldfields Casino (Welkom); Blackrock Casino (Newcastle); Emnotweni Casino (Nelspruit); The Ridge Casino (Witbank); Mykonos Casino (Langebaan); Suncoast Casino (Durban); Hemingways Casino (East London); The Caledon Casino (Caledon); Golden Horse Casino (Pietermaritzburg); Gold Reef City (Johannesburg), Queens Casino (Queenstown) and Montecasino (Fourways).
The top credit earners in the qualifying rounds are set to compete in the semi-finals taking place at each property in the week of the 14th of September. The highest scorers from each of the casinos will be treated to a trip to Johannesburg to compete in the national competition. The finalists and their partners will stay at a luxury Southern Sun hotel and the final event will take place at the vibrant Montecasino on the 21st of September when someone will walk away with over a million.
According to Steve Hight, Director of Gaming at Tsogo Sun, the stakes have been raised due to the overwhelming response to the tournament.
“Being our first-ever national slots competition, we are thrilled with the response to The Slots Factor. Players have showed up in their droves at our casinos to buy-in and each week, semi-finalists are being added to the ranks. We look forward to the semi-finals when the top scorers at each casino will be announced.
“The final competition at Montecasino promises to be an exciting and fun-filled event. Never before have we awarded such a high bounty in a single slots tournament.”
The tournament is open to everyone over the age of 18. People can register to participate at the Club Desk at their nearest casino. There is no need to be a club member to participate in the tournament. Dates and times of qualifying heats will vary from casino to casino. Participants can check their casino’s website for more information.
