GOLDEN ARROW COMMUTERS TO PAY MORE

23 Jul Transport

CAPE TOWN – Golden Arrow has announced a hike in its fares effective from August 6.

Clip card users on selected, longer routes, will pay an average increase of 3.4 percent.

This is the second time the company has increased fares in recent months.

In December, the bus operator increased fares by an average of eight percent.

The company’s Bronwen Dyke said they have tried to absorb as much of the cost increases as possible.

“Our business is dependent entirely on diesel buses. The price of fuel has been at record levels this year. Fortunately though, the recent decrease in the price of diesel has meant that the fare increase has been reduced to average of below four percent.”
