Emnotweni gives preference to Club members as accommodation is snapped up in run-up to UB40 concert
With some 20 000 fans expected to pour into Nelspruit for the highly-anticipated UB40 Concert on Reconciliation Day, Emnotweni Casino & Hotel, the official accommodation and hospitality partner for the event, is furiously taking bookings for rooms from out-of-town travellers.
“We’ve seen a massive step-up in accommodation bookings in recent weeks as the countdown begins to one of the biggest public international music event ever staged in Mbombela. There are still rooms available at both the Emnotweni Hotel and StayEasy Emnotweni for the weekend of the concert but these are being snapped up fast. We don’t want loyal customers to lose out, so Club Festival members of Tsogo Sun’s various casinos are being given preference,” says Emnotweni Casino’s General Manager, Ig Olivier.
According to Olivier, Club Festival members can register for a room online. By quoting their Club Festival membership number when booking, they also qualify for a discount on their accommodation. The Emnotweni complex itself offers an array of entertainment choices. It adjoins Riverside Mall, one of the region’s biggest shopping centres, with the vibrant Explorers Restaurant and Jacaranda FM’s state-of-the-art regional broadcasting studio, seamlessly connecting the casino with the mall’s promotion court and Nu Metro Cinema complex.
The casino itself boasts 367 slot machines offering a wide variety of games and denominations, table games include Blackjack and Roulette. The Salon Privé offers serious gamers privacy and exclusivity.
There are two Southern Sun hotels situated within close walking distance of Emnotweni Casino. The Emnotweni Sun Hotel provides 109 luxurious rooms to business and leisure travellers. From the moment you enter, you’ll realise that you find yourself in a very special place. Emnotweni Sun is the premier address in Nelspruit. It is simply the best. With the best dining, the best service and best experience you can imagine. At the StayEasy hotel, you not only stay easy, but you also pay easy. The 115-room Emnotweni Stay Easy hotel provides comfortable accommodation and service for the more budget-conscious visitor with 1, 2, or 3 persons sharing options available. Wireless internet connectivity is available throughout the hotel.
“Whichever hotel you choose to stay in while you’re in Nelspruit for the concert, you can rest assured that you’ll be treated well and have somewhere safe and comfortable to rest after the night’s spectacular entertainment,” says Olivier. The concert, which is being held at Mbombela Stadium on the 16th of December to mark Reconciliation Day, is being organised by Afrofunk Entertainment and Lwati Events.
The organisers believe the event will help kick-start a new era of economic growth around entertainment for the Mpumalanga region. In addition to Ali Campbell and UB40, the concert also features a line up of some of the country’s top performers and DJs. Local artists on the bill include Gold Fish, Jamali, Dave van Vuuren (Idols winners), Natalie R; DJ Tira; Big Nuz; Proverb; No Ones Ark, and Jacaranda FM’s Miguel Proenca.
