In accordance with Section 3.59 of the JSE Securities Exchange Listings Requirements, HCI shareholders are informed that Ms Barbara Hogan has been appointed as an independent non-executive director of HCI with effect from 29 August 2012.

Ms Hogan worked at the Development Bank of South Africa as an institutional specialist until her appointment as a member of parliament in 1994. She served as chairlady of numerous committees including the budget committee, finance portfolio committee and the standing committee of the auditor-general. She was appointed to cabinet as Minister of Health in 2008 and thereafter as Minister of Public Enterprises in 2009.
